I am a freelance designer that is fast, friendly and very reasonable. Your project won't get lost among "more important" projects like it would at one of those big internet design factories. I was born and raised in the midwest so you won't have any problems with my accent should we need to talk on the phone.

Which brings me to another point. When I see an ad on Craigslist that asks for "local designers only", I don't get it. Isn't the whole point of the internet to make the whole world "local". I've found that prospective clients that require local designers are usually people that aren't comfortable doing business online. Part of what I do when I take on a client is assess their ability to understand the scope of the project.

A great example of my dedication are the ladies at Griffon Fabrics. They knew they needed a website but barely knew how to log onto the web. Their username and password for their seldom used email account was posted on a bulletin board next to the cash register. Seriously, no lie.

I spent way more time than I had allocated for their project, but in the end they are now computer literate and operate the Ebay store I set up for them totally on their own! Building a site for someone is not like the housing construction industry. You don't have to show a new homeowner how to check the mail and respond to it. You don't have to show them how to keep it clean and well maintained. As a site designer, I make sure I do that. And more.
